I MAKE YOU WANT TO BUY THINGS. From the aptly named Creative Projects team at Nordstrom come (among many other things) monthly, collaborative Pop-In Shops. Fast-paced and ever-evolving, we are a concentrated niche team tasked with breaking walls, concepting multiple shops at any given moment, harnessing new technologies, and making stuff happen with speed, precision, and really high standards.
ADVENTURE TIME. We assembled some of the finest purveyors of outdoor gear—think Filson, Snow Peak, Cotopaxi, The North Face and more—for a camp-glamp-or-whatever Pop-In Shop made for the dreamiest post-summer solstice wanderings.
I was the sole writer + editor on this project (that moved at breakneck speed), as well as the designated editorial photographer. Copy deliverables included: a full-scale digital site experience (an interactive map, packing list, field guide, strategic site placements, mobile/tablet alts, several weekly emails, ads), brand Q+As and interviews with creative directors and CEOs, in-store signage, and weekly blog content. In the weeks leading up to launch, I scouted shoot locations and co-art directed the image-making process as I personally shot the campaign.
THIS SHOP BOASTED nearly 38 million external impressions, thanks in part to features in publications like GQ, Yahoo! Style, The Zoe Report, and Chicago Magazine.
